Abdullah Gul University (AGU), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences invite applications for multiple faculty positions in the Department of Sociology and Political Science and International Relations.
We primarily seek sociologist, political scientists whose work has been concentrated on migration, gender and conflict resolution areas. Major responsibilities include teaching courses in sociology and political sciences and helping to develop and to expand programs.
The successful candidate will understand, support, and advance the liberal arts, excel in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level, and have an active research agenda. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in a related field, and will be considered for positions at all academic ranks (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). Successful candidates will be expected to initiate and maintain externally funded research programs, be committed to teaching excellence and student mentorship at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and be involved in service to the university and profession.
At the Assistant Professor level, applicants are expected to demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and promise for a distinctive career in research. At higher ranks, evident track record of research accomplishments, including successful research funding, is expected. Particularly attractive is demonstrable ability or interest to initiate interdisciplinary research and university-industry collaborations.
